Peyton Manning's Tough Situation

I read an article today on  Peyton Manning's injury update and it doesn't look good. The superstar quarterback had surgery over the summer in order to fix a bulging disk; however, a comeback from that injury proved to be impossible. Just recently Peyton had a second surgery that involved a cervical fusion on his neck in order to fully repair the nagging injury. This surgery has a healing time of about two to three months. At this point the NFL season will be well underway. So the Indianapolis Colts have some work to do. Even if Peyton comes back healthy and ready to go, he is well late into the season (maybe to the point of no post-season hopes) and quite a few years in age. In the mean-time, the Colts have signed a long time veteran in Kerry Collins. Collins will be the starting quarterback, since there are no other options at quarterback. Honestly, I am not a Colts fan (actually I am a fan of one of their rivals), but it doesn't look good for the long-time superpower. The only hope that the Colts normally have is the best quarterback in the league, who is currently on the physically disabled list. Only time will tell what is in store for Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
